MAYAN CITIES

Kabah, Yucatan, Mexico

One of the satellite settlements of the Puuc route, Kabah consists of a series of temples and palaces, some small pyramids and a monumental arch, all connected by sacbes or causeways, one of which runs all the way to Uxmal. The most famous of the structures at Kabah is the Codz Pop, or temple of masks, with it's facade covered with 270 of the bug-eyed, long-nosed masks of the rain god Chac.
